Carcoustics sponsers proTRon AERIS of the High School Trier

Not only have the times changed, but also the priorities:

CO2 reduction, new drives, energy efficiency get more important nowadays. Also Carcoustics deals with these issues and looks for weight reductions, solves acoustic problems (also available for hybrid vehicles and electric cars), minimizes products at constant performance, etc. CC has a sponsorship agreement with the High School in Trier. Their PROTON Aeris and Proton Aeris II will take part at the Shell Eco-Marathon. 

The 2009 edition of the Shell Eco-Marathon Europe will be held 7-9 May at the Euro Speedway Lausitz track in Germany.  The principle of the Shell Eco-Marathon is simple: to design and build a vehicle that uses the least amount of fuel to travel the farthest distance. 

More than 3,000 challenging students around the world design, build, and test vehicles that travel further using less energy. Current record: 3,836 km with 1 l gasoline. 

In 2007 the Eco-Team took an active part at the Shell Eco-Marathon in France for the first time. Their vehicle was called proTRon I and was made of a 20kg lightweight, carbon fiber chassis. Distance with 1 liter gasoline:  2.600 km. In 2009 they will participate in two different categories: proTRon AERIS in the category of more realistic “UrbanConcept” vehicles, designed to meet the needs of today’s drivers. The proTRon II enters the contest in the prototype category.

The advantages of such cooperation are various. The competition offers an introduction to the technology of tomorrow (fuel cell / electric drive) with a vivid exchange of information between the future engineers and their universities. This project is a good source for new ideas and innovations.

By searching the most efficient car, limits must be overcome and solutions must be found. Therefore, it is more than just a cooperation agreement for us. We want to build a long-term relationship.
