Leverkusen, 05/04/2018
Carcoustics has again been awarded "MINT Minded Company" status, qualifying as an employer of particular interest to graduates with MINT (mathematics, informatics, natural sciences, and technology) specialties. The Leverkusen-based company, which develops and manufactures acoustically and thermally effective components for the automotive industry and other industrial sectors, has invested heavily in developing young talents in the past, creating over 1,000 additional jobs worldwide over the past seven years.
The "MINT Minded Company" award is presented by audimax MEDIEN GmbH, strategic partner and member of the board of trustees of the nationwide "MINT Zukunft schaffen” (“Create a Future for MINT”) initiative. The initiative aims to counteract the shortage of specialists with scientific and technical qualifications.
The only way companies can qualify for the award is by being named an attractive employer by graduates with MINT specialties.
Thomas Sundermann, head of Human Resources for the Carcoustics Group, is pleased about the independent certification: "We work with universities and technical colleges, offering a wide range of opportunities for our young talents. The fact that nomination by MINT graduates was the only thing that got us this award confirms our concept. The training of our own young talents is an elementary component of our growth strategy." At Carcoustics, trainees, work-study students, recent graduates, interns, and student trainees are grouped under the term “Young Talents”. Carcoustics currently employs a total of 134 young people of this description worldwide, 51 of them at its headquarters in Leverkusen. The training and the work-study opportunities at Carcoustics involve varied, structured assignments in all training-relevant departments, personal support focused on development and individual strengths, and the assumption of responsibility within projects right from the start. Our dedicated trainers prepare the young talents for a qualified, successful career start. The company operates globally with 15 locations worldwide, so a stay abroad of at least six weeks is part of the training. The training concept is rounded off by regular network meetings of the company's young talents.
Our recent graduates, interns, and student trainees are also involved and actively supported in demanding projects, some of which are international. New vacancies are constantly being advertised, so a regular visit to the Carcoustics career page is always worthwhile for students and prospective trainees. Currently we are still looking for applicants for the work-study program starting in October 2018 in the fields of IT, industrial engineering, and controlling. It is not uncommon for those who complete such programs to have an opportunity to take up a junior position within the company.
