Leverkusen, 13 November 2019
On October 9, 2019, Bert Brantley, Chief Operating Officer of the State of Georgia Department of Economic Development, led a high-ranking delegation to Carcoustics’ headquarters in Leverkusen, Germany. This visit sought to recognize Carcoustics’ earlier announcement that it would make an investment in the single-digit million range and create 200 new jobs in Buford while also engaging in a productive exchange with company executives that would establish a close-knit network on the ground.
Carcoustics has grown rapidly, and today 200 employees staff the facility in Buford in Gwinnett County, Georgia, with more positions expected to be filled in the near future.

Carcoustics introduced the company and its products in the field of acoustic and thermodynamic solutions for vehicles. Experts from Carcoustics TechConsult, an in-house development center, demonstrated its core competencies using various test setups. The delegation was also afforded the opportunity to tour Carcoustics’ production lines where its advanced manufacturing processes were showcased.
Carcoustics is a medium-sized company on an international course for growth. The automotive supplier, headquartered in Leverkusen, Germany, has opened five new locations since 2017: in Nováky (Slovakia), Wroclaw (Poland), Shenyang (China), Querétaro (Mexico) and Buford, Georgia (USA).

Carcoustics is already present in Howell, Michigan, and maintains a sales location in Troy, Michigan, but its location in Buford means it can better serve the Greater Southeast.
"Thanks to the proximity to our customers in the south of the USA, we can ensure optimum networking in the long term and avoid long transport routes", says Lars Johannsen, Business Development Manager at Carcoustics: "Production for customers such as BMW and Daimler has already started successfully. At the moment, however, we still face challenges, especially in the search for a suitable logistics partner and in human resources".

"In the wake of the general shortage of skilled workers, we in Buford are also partly faced with the challenge of finding qualified employees for Carcoustics," says Dorie Phillips, Human Resources Manager for Carcoustics Buford. "We need to promote trade schools with the same passion we promote college. This will give us an opportunity to have more talent for manufacturing positions.”
