Yesterday evening, Carcoustics was presented with the Daimler Supplier Award 2013 at the Mercedes-Benz Center in Stuttgart. The vehicle manufacturer honours its top suppliers every year, in recognition of the contribution they make to Daimler's success.

Daimler recognizes its best 12 suppliers worldwide in the categories passenger cars & vans, trucks & buses und international procurement services (non production materials). Carcoustics has been a Daimler supplier for decades and has received one of the most coveted awards in the category “passenger cars & vans”. The award was presented to Dr. Peter Schwibinger, CEO of Carcoustics, by Dr. Dieter Zetsche, Chairman of the Board of Management of Daimler AG and Head of Mercedes-Benz Cars.

Carcoustics is currently supplying a complete set of engine bay components on three continents for the new C-class (BR205), which goes into series production in March 2014. The components include insulation for the hood, transmission tunnel, bulkhead and partition walls. These products increase driver comfort and their lightweight construction helps to reduce the vehicle's overall weight. Daimler and Carcoustics have worked together closely for over 40 years. With its annual Supplier Awards, Daimler rewards superior performance in the areas of technology, quality, cost, innovation and supplier reliability.

"We are delighted to receive this award. It highlights the close relationship we have developed with Daimler over many years. As specialists in vehicle acoustics and thermodynamics, our laboratory is constantly developing new solutions for the automotive industry. These are then produced in-house to help manufacturers such as Daimler to make continuous improvements to their vehicles", says Dr. Peter Schwibinger, CEO of Carcoustics.

In a nutshell, Carcoustics' expertise lies in making noisy things quieter and heavy things lighter. Its work also revolves around improving the flexibility, stability and compactness of materials, along with providing protection from external factors. The supplier's laboratory tests some 1,500 different materials for use in the automotive industry and other industrial sectors. Carcoustics core competence is a very detailed knowledge of various technologies and materials. The company focuses on providing customised solutions, since every manufacturer and every vehicle model have their own very specific requirements.
